Pilates to Transform the Body

Pilates is a physical practice that challenges how you move your body. The Pilates Method is a series of exercises and skills built to strengthen your core and stabilizing muscles. It requires a lot of dedication, time and practice to master. We find it takes our students a minimum of six months to a year (or more) to truly understand these foundational exercises and how to move their bodies efficiently.

Does this approach to fitness take dedication? You bet. But if you commit to the process, you’ll see results in how you move your body and how your body looks and feels.

Pilates to Transform the Mind

Achieving excellence in Pilates requires focus throughout your practice. Whether you’re in a private session with one of our instructors or participating in a small group class, you will need to focus on the smallest of movements, from how to place your feet to how you position your head. The ability to maintain this level of focus doesn’t happen overnight. Pilates practitioners find their mental practice in the studio has benefits that will make a lasting impact throughout the duration of their lives.

At JLB Pilates, we believe change happens through movement, and that movement heals (just as Joseph Pilates taught).
