Why Would I Need to Use an EXO Chair?

At JLB Pilates, our goal is to heal through movement to improve your mind, body, and spirit. We use exercises and apparatuses that challenge how your body moves and increase your overall strength, flexibility, and balance. We want to challenge our clients regardless of their current level of flexibility or fitness. To do so, we often use EXO chairs in our group classes and private sessions.

The EXO chair is a versatile apparatus that helps our clients customize, enhance, and challenge the skills needed to perform the exercises required for both mat and reformer order. In addition, our EXO chair is utilized to strengthen and lengthen muscles of the legs, arms, torso, and spine. It will also challenge balance, flexibility, pelvic/shoulder stability as well as ankle range of motion. As a result, the exercises and workouts are endless.

In addition, each EXO chair is designed to provide our clients with a total body workout. The chairs’ pedal system offers up to 83 pounds of resistance to challenge even the most advanced Pilates practitioner.

What’s Special About the Balanced Body EXO Chair?

At JLB Pilates, we use the Balanced Body EXO Chair to create a total workout system in our group classes. The EXO chairs can be set up as a single pedal or split pedal to accommodate any Pilates practitioner and exercise. The chair is extremely customizable, with multiple combinations and resistance settings. It completely depends on what the individual can handle.
